Multi-row coilbender

SMI MULTI-ROW COIL BENDERS are used to bend finned pack heat exchangers consisting of multiple rows. They are available in two different versions—PSA and CBR—which are further refined based on the varying degree of automation.

In the PSA model, the movement of all units involved in bending enable processing as an automated sequence without operator intervention.

Placing the bending roller on a horizontal axis ensures better weight distribution, particularly during the processing phase, to maintain the quality of the thin fins supporting the exchanger. To avoid undesired deformation caused by the elevated forces involved during bending, the bending roller is held in position by strong anchoring units, and is motorised on both ends.

 The electrical movements, which are controlled by 5 axes, ensure enhanced flexibility, precision movements, and quiet operation. The intuitive interface and highly configurable operational parameter control allow for simple cycle management to ensure products that are always in line with expectations.

The machine may be configured for autonomous operation or integrated in an automatic assembly line.

The CBR is a semiautomatic machine with 2 controlled axes ideal for bending small lots of exchangers. In contrast with the PSA model, the machine operator clamps and unclamps the exchanger from the bending roller and positions the piece, and is ideal for bending small batches of exchangers.

As with the PSA model, the bending radius may be changed by quickly replacing the shaping roller.

SMI MULTI-ROW COIL BENDERS can be programmed using a simplified interface that guides the operator through all the operational steps. These machines are prepared for integration into smart factory systems.
