Hairpin benders
For the production of fixed-radius hairpins and straightened tubes
The HAIRPIN BENDERS in the FAM series are extremely flexible electric machines that produce both fixed-radius hairpins and straight tubes, with or without flares.
Drawing on the power and precision of the brushless motors mounted on the HAIRPIN BENDER, all line setup adjustments are extremely quick and simple, with setting and referencing directly from the control centre using the touchscreen monitor.
Important features of the machine include the simplicity of the necessary setup operations and the option to mount combined bending formers. The latter, in particular, even gives operators with little experience the ability to change processing geometries in just a few minutes based on the specific product mix adopted by the client.
When provided for, a retractable unit patented by SMI can widen the tube on the bending head of straight pieces to create a flared profile (patent no. 102020000006778, 31.03.2020). The unit is managed from the central system control panel.
The tube straightening and orbital cutting units were developed with specific technological solutions to process materials with different properties (Cu, Cu/Ni, and AISI 304).
System automation is managed by a SIEMENS SIMOTION D425 control unit. These HAIRPIN BENDERS are prepared for integration into smart factory systems.
